According to the Amnesty International, China executes more people every year than all other countries combined. Thus, on 26 June, which is International Day Against Drug Abuse, four people earlier sentenced to death were executed .Three of them got this penalty for the distribution of methamphetamine on the streets of Taiwan and one for the transport of 4 kilograms of the same drug.
The same day courts of the country's four provinces sentenced 117 people convicted of drug use and drug trafficking. 15 of them got death penalty verdict.
As the news agency "Xinhua" reports “trials of drug traffickers, as well as the burning of drugs are made public in order to show the show how dangerous and harmful drugs are”.
55 tons of confiscated chemicals used to manufacture heroin were burned June 26th.
