"We propose to criminalize illegal hidden (veiled) promotion and open advertising of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors in the Internet. Maximum penalty we suggest is two years in prison, "- said head of the committee, Irina Yarovaya.
Thus, in the Criminal Code, an article will appear. According to it, advertisings of the items mentioned above with the use of informational and telecommunication networks will be punished by the penalty of up to 50,000 rubles or by the imprisonment for 2 years.
However, prepared document includes some exceptions. Penalties don’t apply to information published in specialized publications intended for physicians and pharmacists.
