Australian police intercepted $0.5 billion dollars worth of drugs.

The Associated Press referring to informed sources in Australian police reports that the police managed to intercept a record large consignment of drugs both in terms of its amount and value. The total weight of the drugs is as big as 558 kg, its value is estimated approximately as $ 500 million.

The drug dealers tried to smuggle drugs (a part of them was methylamphetamine and the other part was heroine) making a hideout among a large party of clay flowerpots. According to the statistics of Australian police, the 306 kg of methylamphetamine they intercepted is a record volume for Australia, and the 252 kg of heroin is the third largest consignment of the drug confiscated within the country.

 The special services of Australia got a tip about the drug smuggling from the US drug police. As the result of the operation, the smugglers were arrested. Three of them are Australian citizens and four criminals came from Hong Kong. If their guilt is proved, they may be sentenced to life term.
