The Ministry of Health of Taiwan disseminated information that the drug problem became the key factor of spread of AIDS within the country.
According to the statistics, a month ago the number of people infected with AIDS as a result of drug injections exceeded the number of people infected through homosexual intercourse. By this moment the situation deteriorated. The number of HIV positive injection drug users has reached the average level of the Taiwanese who got infected sexually.
The year 2012 became catastrophic for Taiwan. This year increase in the amount of people suffering with AIDS exceeded 20%. Now the number is as big as 6,255 people.
