14.08.2012

On 12 August the General Department for Drug Control and customs service of Egypt carried out another successful operation directed to curbing smuggling drugs into the Egyptian territory. They managed to intercept 2 large bulk bins containing 54 million of tramadol pills. “

The bulk bins were sent from India to Egypt. They belong to a company named the Salam Group. According to documents, they were to contain compressors, however the rummage exposed 1080 boxes of tramadol instead of the technical equipment”, the harbor master of Egypt's Ain Sokhna seaport, where the operation took place, said.

The fact of smuggling is being investigated. If the Carrier ‘s guilt is proved, it is to pay a fine of 160 million Egyptian pounds.
