Press office of the Interior Department of East Kazakhstan Oblast reports that a woman of 83 years old, a pensioner, who used to sell drugs in the yard of her own house, was arrested in the city of Semei (former Semipolatinsk).
The old criminal was exposed as the result of the Mak (‘Poppy’) operation directed to detecting the places of growing and copping zones. A test purchase took place in the house of the suspect. The old lady sold 2,000 worth of drugs to a police officer. The drug turned out to be dry poppy straw. Its weight was as big as 98 g.
The investigation is in progress. The origin of the drug is being researched. Police doesn’t specify what punishment the detained pensioner is to face.
