Mario Ponce Rodriguez, a citizen of Guatemala who is one of the leaders of drug trade in his country, was arrested and convicted as the result of the special operation carried out by American authorities.
He was sentenced to 25 years in the Federal prison and a fine of $8.8 million. Mario Ponce Rodriguez carry this severe punishment for his activity at the US territory as a strategist working out the schemes of drug trade and distribution.
While he was being arrested in 2011 in Honduras, his criminal grouping was selling approximately 10 tons of cocaine. At the end of 2011, he was extradited to the USA, where the prosecution insisted on the drug dealer’s imprisonment.
