Recently the work of National Congress of rehabilitation centers was complete in Mexico. During the congress, a number of experts emphasized extreme danger of contemporary trends in drug using. Particularly, they marked extremely negative influence of synthetic drugs on teenagers’ brain activity.
Results of researches presented at the Congress have shown that human brain is formed till the age of 21. Therefore, using synthetic drugs in this period can cause catastrophic damage to the health of young people.
“Undoubtedly, it doesn’t mean that it’s harmless for adults to use drugs or that natural drugs are safe. But synthetic drugs are hundreds times more dangerous”, Roberto Castro, a representative of the Counter-drug addiction State Commission. “They are dangerous because they are very cheap and their effect is much stronger. It makes them increasingly popular among teenagers and youth”.
“It’s necessary to pay increased attention to one’s child, especially now before children return to school. Stresses they face there can be a strong motivation to use drugs”, Roberto Castro concluded.
