Twelve teenagers were hospitalized with symptoms of severe poisoning in Wyoming (USA). All patients are critically ill and three of them already have kidney damage.
Taken samples indicate presence of popular narcotic substance called "Spice" in the blood. It is used as marijuana substitute, and is made of certain varieties of herbs. Despite the fact that this new type of drug does not contain cannabis, which is banned in the United States, "Spice" gives drug addicts simular feeling of euphoria and uplifting.
State police is seriously concerned about disturbing popularity of this drug. Only in the last month they were able to withdraw from the market more than 5 kilograms of "Spice."
In some states this drug has already been equated to marijuana and therefore has been banned. Competent authorities and doctors have already developed special leaflets and brochures describing symptoms of "Spice" overdose.
