A few days ago the Mayor of Marseille and member of the Socialist Party of the Bouches-du-Rhone (France) issued a statement calling the leadership of the country to toughen penalties imposed on drug users.
French government gathered interdepartmental committee on this occasion, which besides the main issue discussed other, closely related items: strengthening economic development in cities and ways of dealing with unjust enrichment.
"We have to punish drug purchasers, to restrict them in buying drugs freely. We must have the right to detain even those who drive the most expensive cars, "- said Patrick Menuchchi, MP from the Socialist Party.
Grounds for tougher laws in this area are simple . According to the initiators, there will be no supply without demand.
