Supporters for legalization of marijuana in the United States and the whole world are looking forward for the presidential elections. On November 6, along with presidential elections, the elections of congressmen and senators, which include the referendum on the question of decriminalization of cannabis sale, will also take place in some of the states.
“Do you really want everyone, who reached 21, to freely buy marijuana in the state licensed stores?” the question raised for the audience.
This action under the name “Initiative 502, is called to streamline anti-drug legislature, prevent the thousands of arrests and bring millions of the additional income to the U.S. treasury.
The major focus of referendum is given to the economic part of the question. They have calculated everything to details and claim that the charge of 25 percent of stocks from the “weed” sale will be a reasonable measure in this case. The money earned is expected to spend on the support of public medical institutions and schools.
It is worth mentioning that even the legalized cannabis has a list of restrictions. Thus, any citizen of the U.S., who reached 21, have a right to buy no more than 30 grams of dried cannabis, 450 grams of marijuana soaked cookies or up to 2 litters of marijuana extract. It is also prohibited to use marijuana in the public places and demonstrate it publicly.
