Drug propaganda sites – BLACKLISTED

02.11.2012

Harm-containing sites oriented to drug propaganda will be included to the blacklist monitored by governmental bodies from November, 1. It is related to the adoption of the Law ‘On protecting children from information causing harm to their health and advancement’.

Besides drug propaganda and methods of drug production, first of all, all attention will be paid to the sources containing child porn and suicide instructions. Upon finding the sites with such content all the sites will be closed without judicial safeguards, in all other cases through a court proceeding. If source is blacklisted then providers are obliged to block the access for users in the Russian Federation through URL and IP.

It is important that users detecting illicit content on different sources have the right to lodge a complaint against the source in the special site Roskomnadzor. As soon as this information will be removed sites are automatically unblocked.

It is interesting that within 30 minutes of the site functioning there were 100 complaints lodged against harmful sources. The site itself started to be the object of hackers.
