The language barrier let the drug dealer escape in Belgium

06.11.2012

According to the Belgian informational agency Belga, the local police had to release the Brazilian drug dealer, detained in the Brussels airport with 4 kilos of cocaine. The reason for such loyalty was an absence of a translator from Portuguese language.

25-year old man, who arrived from Brazil on Friday evening, carried the tightly packed consignment of cocaine with a total weight of 4 kilos. However, the airport employees managed to discover the prohibited goods, after the owner was detained.

The investigators managed to catch the criminal on Saturday morning, however released him in a while. After the long and unsuccessful attempts to find the translator from Portuguese in order to question the drug dealer, the police members had to release the last one for the weekend.

The further location of the Brazilian citizen is still unknown, however the police found out that after he left the police station, he took the taxi to the airport.
