Last weekend, the 20-year-old driver, being under the effect of drugs and alcohol, committed a car accident that resulted in a death of a 7-month-old baby in the department of Herault, the south of France.
The deceased child was in the car that young addicts crashed into. Parents of a child, who were in the car, managed to escape with minor injuries, whereas the baby just slipped out of the belt, he was fastened with, and received mortal injuries.
Despite the fact that the culprit of the accident claims that he didn’t use drugs before getting into the car, the court hearing against him will take place in Montpellier today. He is accused in the reckless crime, committed under the effect of drugs.
The local police say that it’s far not the first accident, committed by the drivers under the effect of drugs for the last time. Thus, on September 22 the drug addicted driver in Cannes killed the policeman and a young woman, and on October 21 another inadequate driver crashed the car in Nice, as a result of which a young woman died.
The French police reminds that in case of a car driving under the effect of alcohol, the risk of car accident increases up to 8,5 times, and if used with alcohol up to 15 times.
