The push for the police to respond to the questions of the citizens about drugs served the law on marijuana legalization, for which the majority of the citizens of couple of states have voted. Thus, Seattle authorities opened the special blog in Internet, where they reply to the questions of citizens, regarding the new law.
Despite the fact that that the law will come into the force only on December 6, 2012, the official blog of the authorities about drugs has already gained its popularity. Only for the last week, the page was visited by over 120,000 people.
As an author of the blog, the administration of the local police has chosen the journalist of the local informal newspaper – The Stranger – Iona Shpengental Lee. The co-author of the blog became Sean Whitcomb, the sergeant of the police. Together they managed to create a sort of the "guide", written in the format of the "question and answer".
