Love often saves, but it also often destroys. It causes many follies, many bonehead actions which can bring a man to ruin. But it also causes exploits saving human lives.
Often people say that if someone is in love he will never harm himself in order not to hurt the loved one, to save his loved one from suffering. But it’s another way round when we speak about drug using. It happens that a loving person taken captive by drug euphoria forgets everything. He drags his loved one away to the lower depths where they perish together. It’s the drugs to blame. They blind the man extinguishing his consciousness, possessing his thoughts and instincts.
This is the endurance test for the love. If the feelings are durable and the instinct of self-preservation is still functioning, the partner will all he can to save himself and his feelings and so to save his loving one. However, if one cares of himself, but his feelings are feeble and flaunty, the other partner will disappear along with the whole life that had existed before the first injection of drugs. May God grant any drug addict, doomed to the crucible of a narcotic potion, a person who will become a life saver in this fatal vortex.
To give up is just half the battle. It’s much more difficult to start living again. The main thing is to start making independent decisions without fear of becoming addicted again.
