It’s not a secret that nicotine addiction is among the most popular ones all over the world. Many people know it and realize the consequences of smoking. Some people spit upon it and continue to do whatever they want. Other people try to give up after they realize one fair day that they are addicted. Light drug though it be, it acts slower but it causes as grave consequences, as, for example, the use of heroin.

Ministry of Health constantly warns, government bans advertising tobacco till late at night, police controls the enforcement of the law prohibiting smoking in public places. But it’s much more effective to demonstrate visually the consequences of smoking tobacco:

 


    

   

      


That’s the way a human being is accomplished – to change something in oneself, one must experience an incredible shock, to have a turn in one’s brain. It’s necessary to make a person to bring oneself to doing something.

We can find a lot of advice how to give up smoking in Internet. But, in fact, they all are very specific for each person. If a morning mantra like: “I won’t smoke anymore, I won’t smoke anymore, I won’t smoke anymore,” can help someone, another person has to undergo a course of treatment. But the main point is the inner struggle. It’s necessary to determine clearly if you want to go on smoking and face the grave consequences of the addiction or go as far as to chose the notorious healthy life style.

This makes it more inspiring to run against all sorts of forums and groups where people share experience and discuss that it is quite real to quit taking this narcotic if one really wants, no matter how long he has been smoking. 

“I quit smoking quite easily. I just realized that I don’t really want to smoke, that I don’t want to loose my heath, beauty etc. And I realized that I smoke for many reasons, which do not include the direct pleasure of smoking. This is the way to strike up an acquaintance, mask awkwardness, to be sociable, to keep hands busy, to make a break during work etc. In general, I decided to solve the problems not at the expense of my health. Everything is in our hands. You just not always want to believe this”.

“I had been smoking for 33 years. I smoked even then when there was no tobacco. I smoked home-grown tobacco, shag tobacco. I tried to give up smoking several times. I I tried to quit several times, but could not. I used to walk like a fool and look for tobacco in all pockets and everywhere. I started coughing at night, you know, the smoker’s cough. I went to sauna, but smoked before it. I took a good steam-bath and after that I never smoked a single cigarette. But I had cigarettes, an open box was laying at a prominent place, otherwise I would start looking for it again. Everybody was smoking at my workplace, but I did not display that I had quit, but never allowed myself to take a single whiff, or everything would start from the very beginning. I used to want to smoke. But I used to kill the desire with walnuts, sunflower seeds and work. In a month I already felt better. I stopped coughing, chest-foundering disappeared, I even started spitting not like I did before. Sometimes I still wanted to smoke. Many times I dream that I smoked, but after waking up I was glad that this was only a dream. Only in a year I felt disgust towards the smell of tobacco. I have not been smoking for six years, I’m 67. I’m very glad that I overpowered the habit. The main thing that I have not taken a single whiff”.

“Once on Saturday morning I woke up with a terrible cough (in general, I did not have any syndromes of a smoker before that). I coughed so badly that I could not breath in and started merely suffocating. Iwasterrified. InseveraldaysIquitsmoking. Ididnotwantitanymore. I did not suffer any withdrawal. Moreover, now when I think about smoking (different situations can occur), that terrible cough comes up to my chest, killing any desire to smoke”.
