Supreme Mufti of Russia

Talgat Tajuddin is a Chairman of the Muslim Central Spiritual Board, the Supreme Mufti of Russia, Sheikh-ul-Islam. 

He was born on October 12, 1948 in Kazan, the Tatar family. His father - a truck driver, his mother worked at the factory.

In 1966 he entered the madrassa "Arab World" in Bukhara, where he got his higher theological education and graduated with honors in 1973.

He is a member of the Council for Cooperation with Religious Associations under the Russian President. A member of the Presidium of the Interreligious Council of Russia, a member of the National War Fund of the Russian Federation.

Today  Talgat Tajuddin  is the official representative of Muslims of the Russian Federation in UNESCO, the Organization of Islamic Conference, the European League of Muslims and other international organizations.
